Dylan Horrell is a senior at Glenn High School. This is his first year in the newspaper program. He spends his free time playing video games, playing the violin, and listening to podcasts. This is his sixth year playing the violin and has previous experience in school orchestra as well as club orchestra. “It wasn’t something I’d initially considered,” Horrell said. “But it was basically my only option I’d been given. It really helped me realize my appreciation for classical music as an art but also as a genre.” He also spends his free time listening to podcasts and enjoys hiking and connecting with nature. 

He is originally from Sacramento, California and moved to New Braunfels, Texas in 2016. In 2023, he relocated to Leander, Texas and has lived here ever since. His family consists of himself, his three siblings, his step-mom, and his dad. After he graduates in the spring of 2026, he plans to move back to California to attend trade school and obtain a certificate in electrical work. “I’ve never been one to say like ‘Enjoy your job and your hobbies’,” Horrell said. “But I found that I really enjoy that kind of work and it’s the thing in that field that I enjoy the most. It also makes a lot of money so that’s helpful.”
