Give former military members more chances to serve

We should allow the active military personnel to stay longer and they should be allowed to pursue college during service. They should be given another opportunity if they have left the military too.

My brother joined Sep. 8 2015 so that he could serve the country and protect our rights and freedom.

He is not sure for how long that he wants to stay but he wants to see the world and as his job that’s what he gets to do.

The second person in my family to enlist was my dad. He joined at the age of 19 because he was jumping around job to job and his dad was in the military before him.

My dad joined in Sep. 19 1999 and went to Basic Training in September, Tech School at Sheppard AFB(Air Force Base) in Wichita Falls, TX from 1999-2000 and than was stationed at Beale AFB, which is located in California.

When my dad left he had no idea what he wanted to do he went to college to study something that was related to his military training.

My dad was asked if he had the choice to go back would he and he told me that he enjoyed his time in the military but didn’t  regret getting out. Almost all veterans will miss their jobs and the friends they make.

If my grandfather had the chance to go back in he told me that he would for the discipline and self respect.

He joined to serve our country so that we could live with the rights that we fought for long ago. He made many good friends but the one that he told me about was named staff sergeant Douglas Osborne. He met him in basic training and served with him. My grandpa said that Douglas resigned before my grandpa did.

We should give veterans more job opportunities once they retire from the service like my grandpa there are not many jobs for him except  law enforcement. My brother doesn’t know what he will do after this service either.
