Kendra Scott fundraiser helps FCCLA
FCCLA’s Kendra Scott fundraiser will help the club get money for competitions and to participate in events in the community.
FCCLA is a student organization for family consumer sciences. Kendra Scott helped with the giveback event where 20 percent of the sales returned to FCCLA, which provided refreshments and baked goods.
“The most exciting part of the fundraiser was connecting with other people and other groups to let them acknowledge what FCCLA is doing and what they’re goal is,” sophomore Jacob Rhymer said. “The goal for FCCLA is to promote cooking in other ways.”
FCCLA is furthering student leadership skills.
“The awesome thing about Kendra Scott is she is an Austin based jeweler,” culinary teacher Olivia Rodriguez said. “Students get to use their skills that they have learned and put them to use.”
Students get insight on what it’s actually like to be part of something that their careers include such as being a chef or being an event planner.
“The most exciting part of the fundraiser is that we are able to raise money for our organization,” sophomore Alexandra Berber said.
