GHS Project Grad Holds Grizzly Fall Market

Alyssa Cordova, Reporter

Glenn High School’s Project Graduation will hold the fifth annual Grizzly Fall Market and Expo in the union and courtyard at Glenn High School on Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The event is a fundraiser for the senior class to raise money for this year’s safe all-night lock-in party the night of graduation, as well as to support the community’s local businesses.

The activities available will include shopping, a silent auction and a cornhole tournament. This year, 115 vendors will be attending the event and selling their wares. The admission price is $4 per person, however, attendees under 12 years of age and Leander ISD employees are allowed free admission upon showing their badge.

All classes are eligible to fundraise for their graduation nights as a part of Project Graduation. For this event, the freshman class is hosting a move in and move out service to support the vendors attending, the sophomore class is hosting a silent auction and the junior class is hosting the cornhole tournament. All students are encouraged to volunteer and participate to help the school and the Leander community.

Nicole Labastida is the Co-Chair of the Grizzly Fall Market and Expo and member on the board for Project Graduation. She works to help coordinate the event and answer questions for those interested in it.

“Supporting local small businesses excites us!” Labastida said. “Seeing their joy in showcasing their product or interacting with shoppers is a thrill. But having them come back year after year & word of mouth spreading of the event speaks volumes!”

The Grizzly Fall Market and Expo is still looking for volunteers. Students can volunteer and have any owed hours signed off on. Student and parent volunteers can earn senior tickets that seniors will be able to use to enter for prizes on senior graduation night.
