Economics teacher Nick Stamets’s favorite part of teaching is the teaching aspect as well as the students themselves. He came to Glenn as a teacher from a smaller school and has been quite impressed with our students after not knowing what to expect from a bigger school as he at first found it intimidating.

Mr. Stamets is also currently in charge of the Speech and Debate program at GHS and has been trying to get that off the ground while maintaining a balance with the other aspects of his life, like his wife and one-year-old daughter.

Mr. Stamets also talked a lot of wanting to be a Park Ranger if he could have any other job and how much he loved being outdoors. “I think my ideal place to live would be in some sort of Swiss Family Robinson plane down, stuck in trees in some sort of jungle island or something. I would probably die after three days, realistically, so I’m past that. I think I would really like to live in someplace like Chile or Argentina, or somewhere where there’s a lot of green forests nearby. That’s how I recharge my batteries; in that sort of environment, which can make it hard to recharge your batteries here. […] I definitely would want to live anywhere near the Andes mountains.”
