Audri Garcia is a freshman this year and is excited to be making new friends at a new school. She says that Maps is her favorite class because it teaches her about her future and “makes life easier”. Garcia is the manager for the freshman volleyball team, “I’m getting used to not having to actually play with the team” she said. She was hoping to make the team “because my passion is to take out my anger on the ball”. The coaches during tryouts were a lot more strict and firm on the girls than they were during strength and conditioning. “The only problem I had during tryouts was that some of the girls were hogging the ball and I couldn’t get to it,” Audri said, “I didn’t want to end up taking someone out”. She explained that she wants to make the school a better place and make it more comfortable for the incoming freshmen such as herself. “The school is very bright and uplifting and it makes me feel welcomed, I hope to have a great school year even with COVID trying to impose on it.” Garcia said.
