Heaven Muriel-De La Paz
October 7, 2020
Over the extended break-turned-quarantine, there’s been a lot of time available for our students to relax and distract themselves. Junior Heaven Muriel-De La Paz spent her time building her artistic skills and entertaining herself with different video games. Muriel’s exploration with her artistic style led to the discovery of new techniques to aid her in growing as an artist. Other than entertainment, Muriel used her quarantine to meditate and learn more about ways to love herself.
“I really like drawing and I started practicing more than usual. Over quarantine I’ve been playing video games and watching anime. I played Mario Odyssey and Animal Crossing because it’s relaxing. Overall, quarantine has affected me for the better. I discovered who I am and gained self confidence. The process took a lot of meditating and doing body positivity exercises. Along the way, the process was hard and I’d have to force myself to complete it, but now I love myself.”
