Pre-prom checklist

With Prom rolling in closer and closer, Pinterest just doesn’t seem to be helping the way you want it to. Sure hairstyle ideas and pretty dresses online have caught your eye, but have you really started planning? Here are some steps to prepare you for Prom.

  1. What’s your budget? Plan how much you want to spend on an outfit, food, transportation and of course, tickets.
  2. Color scheme, if you’re planning on going to prom with someone it’s always best to match just to have that continuous and classy look. If you’re not going with someone then you do you, pick whatever color you feel good in.
  3. Pick what style dress or suit you’d want based on what you think would compliments your body.
  4. Transportation, how are you getting there? How are leaving? With friends, parents or yourself? Are you taking more than one person? Make sure you have this planned out. It is best to know how you’re getting to prom at least a week before just in case if your mom can’t take you or the person you want to ride with has a full car.
  5. What are you eating? Where are you eating? This one isn’t a big deal, but it’s always good to eat to prevent upset stomachs, headaches and if Prom doesn’t have what you want to eat.
  6. What time are you leaving? Where are going? It’s great to make plans with friends after Prom: sleepovers, bonfires, camping, etc.
  7. Prepare a small bag for everything you think you’ll need for the night, chapstick, perfume/cologne, mints, hand sanitizer, etc.

With Prom only less than four weeks away, it’s better to start planning now. Make your Prom a wonderful high school experience.
