Staff Stance: Participate for prom

We are able to start so many amazing traditions and experience the first of many more, like our first Grizzly Junior Prom. To have a spectacular prom, we need sufficient funding and a committed committee of students to aid. Students need to step up and hop into the game for a successful prom.

So far, our school has started its funding for the Junior class with the selling of homecoming tickets. Even though they seemed a bit pricey, it helped with the original deposit. With those tickets, we raised around $4,000. It’s also aimed that we have the Grizzly Olympics to help fund. If the goal isn’t reached, then the first and only Junior prom will forever be an afterthought.

Many kids opt out of activities, but little do they understand that these activities are helping students that are involved. Rather than ruining the fun for a vast majority of willing students, students should step in and be a part of that willing crowd. We need kids who are able to use up some of their time to help prom become a reality, especially for a first.

When you think about it, our first ever prom could be ruined only because students in our school didn’t want to partake in such amazing opportunities. No one wants to have our first prom to be a never existing event, and to have this especially aimed for Juniors only is a golden ticket to a wonderful start.

Even the smallest of contribution would help make a great impact. We hope for this exclusive Junior Prom to never be an afterthought and rather a blooming success, reaching every goal to create a reality.
